Women needs seat at economic, political and social tables - Zulu

The Acting Minister of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities has encouraged women to take their rightful place in all sectors of society.

Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma officially launched Women's Month in Durban on Tuesday. 

 

She said opportunities in the ocean economy and other industries will be brought into sharp focus so that women can empower themselves. 

 

Zulu said women need to be included at the table where the decisions are made and be vocal about their abilities.

"It's not only in the political game where women are excluded, even in the economy. So, when we talk about exclusion, we talk about political, social and economic exclusion. 

 

"The premier was talking about the fact that many deals are made at the golf course. but the environment is such that it's very difficult for women to wake up and play golf the whole day. Therefore there is a need for creation of an environment to enable women to participate."
