Woman shot and killed in Durban south

A woman was killed after being shot on Solomon Mahlangu Drive, south of Durban.

While the circumstances surrounding the incident are unclear at this stage, Newswatch understands that the woman was attacked on Tuesday morning before South Coast Road, in the direction of Pinetown.
"ALS Paramedics Medical Services arrived on the scene to find SAPS in attendance," says ALS Paramedics Medical Services Garrith Jamieson.

"Paramedics quickly assessed the female, believed to be in her early thirties, who had sustained a gunshot wound to her head. However, she showed no signs of life, and she was declared deceased on the scene.
"At this stage, the events leading up to the incident are unknown. However, SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further."
Police were on the scene to investigate the circumstances leading up to the woman’s death.
