Woman killed in PMB hit-and-run

Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after a woman was killed in an alleged hit-and-run in Pietermaritzburg.

Authorities say 55-year-old Pamela Ncameleni was on her way to work when she was knocked over by a car while crossing Commercial Road yesterday morning.

Paramedics say she suffered severe injuries and was declared dead on the scene.Police spokesperson Thulani Zwane say they are still looking for the driver of the vehicle that struck Ncameleni.
Zwane says officers have not yet received a description of the vehicle or how many occupants had been travelling in it.
"We are trying to access any footage of the incident that might be able to assist us," he said.
