A woman has lost her life in a head on collision on the M25 underneath the N2 bridge earlier today.
Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha says when they arrived on scene, some passengers were still trapped in the wreckage.
''There were two people in a critical condition and another two with serious injuries.
''One of the critically injured was a female in her 60s, she went into cardiac arrest at the scene and paramedics worked fervently for quite some time to try and resuscitate her but tragically she has just been declared dead at the scene,'' he said.

Meanwhile, two children have been left in a critical condition after being knocked by a car in Margate today.
It is alleged that a 11-year-old girl who was carrying a 16-month-old baby girl were trying to cross the road when they were struck by the vehicle.
''Both of them had sustained serious injuries and paramedics have treated them on scene and then transported them through to nearby hospitals,'' he said.
