Woman killed in Cato Ridge shooting

A woman has been killed and a man seriously hurt in a shooting incident near Cato Ridge in the early hours of this morning.
Police say a 33-year-old truck driver was shot in the abdomen at about 3.30am.
It is understood they had been travelling from Lesotho to Durban.
Gwala says the motive for the attack and how events unfolded are still under investigation.
"Charges of murder and attempted murder have been opened at Camperdown SAPS," she said.
The woman who had been travelling with him was shot in the head. She died at the scene.

Police say the man managed to drive to a nearby filling station, despite excessive bleeding.It is understood they had been travelling from Lesotho to Durban.
SAPS spokesperson, Nqobile Gwala confirmed the incident.

"The man collapsed after arriving at the filling station. He was rushed to hospital for medical attention," she said.Gwala says the motive for the attack and how events unfolded are still under investigation.
"Charges of murder and attempted murder have been opened at Camperdown SAPS," she said.
She is urging anyone with information that could assist their investigation into the shooting to come forward.
