Woman in Pinetown kidnapping charged with murder

The Pinetown woman accused of kidnapping a 10-year-old girl has been formally charged with murder.

Siphumelele Mzimba disappeared nearly four weeks ago in Nazareth.
Her decomposed body was found in a bush near the suspect's home last week Thursday.
Zandile Nsele - who arrested on a kidnapping charge a few days after the child went missing - was in the Pinetown Magistrate's Court today.
Siphumelele’s parents wept as the 39-year-old Nsele - appeared in court F this morning.
The court heard that a charge of murder would be added to the kidnapping and extortion charges she is already facing.

The state also alleged in court that Nsele strangled Mzimba with a cable rope.
Nsele then told the court she would be abandoning her bail application.
The case was remanded to next month.

Outside court, KZN Social Development MEC, Nonhlanhla Khoza told reporters that the woman must remain behind bars.
