Woman dies in Edendale Road taxi crash

A woman has been killed and 17 others were hurt in a crash involving two taxis on Edendale Road, near Pietermaritzburg.
One taxi veered off the road and down an embankment following the crash while the second taxi overturned.
Paramedics say some passengers were ejected from the vehicles.
ER24 says the woman, believed to be in her 30s, sustained multiple injuries and was declared dead on scene.

17 other people were treated for injuries ranging from minor to moderate. They were taken to nearby hospitals for further care.
Traffic authorities and SAPS are investigating the circumstances leading to the crash.
