Woman dies after Richmond house fire

Investigations are underway at a Richmond home after a woman died following a house fire there last night.
Emergency services say the 38-year-old woman sustained burn wounds and suffered smoke inhalation when the blaze tore through the Russell Street home.

Netcare911's Shawn Herbst says medics rushed her to a local clinic - but her condition quickly took a turn for the worst."The patient had gone into cardiac arrest and a full advanced life support resuscitation was initiated," explained Herbst.
"Despite the best efforts by the clinic staff, the woman's injuries were too severe."
She was declared dead at clinic.
