Murder probe after man killed in Tongaat house fire
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
KwaZulu-Natal police have confirmed a murder case is being investigated, after a man burned to death in his home in Tongaat.
According to police, Keegan Reddy is believed to have been set alight on Saturday.
Nazir Sadack of the Community Emergency Response Team says neighbours told them there'd been some sort of altercation at the house in Seatides.
"There were neighbours that were trying to douse the flames. At that stage, we were informed that Mr. Reddy was trapped in one of the bedrooms. The response team tried to gain entry into the home to try and rescue him."
Sadack says it was difficult to gain entry into the home - because of the severity of the smoke.
"He was quite severely burnt," he said.
In 2016, Reddy rose to social media fame in the viral video 'Warrapen Keegan'.
