'Witnesses key in Zuma corruption case'
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
With former president Jacob Zuma's day in court looming, an analyst believes whether charges against him will stick or not depends on the credibility of the witnesses and their testimonies.
Just over 200 witnesses have been lined up by the State - to testify in the corruption trial of the former president but his former financial advisor doesn't appear to be one of them.
"In a perfect scenario - you would think this would be done after gauging all the evidence you have, making a sound judgement and assessing it to the point where you say - I now have a strong case to go forward with because these witnesses form the foundation of my case. Therefore, we can go to court with a credible case," political analyst, Sanusha Naidoo said.
Zuma faces 16 charges of fraud, money laundering, racketeering and corruption in relation to 783 payments - apparently from French arms company, Thint.
