The South African Weather Service predicts that KZN is among provinces that may experience thundershowers throughout the week starting on Christmas eve.

Other provinces include Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo and the Western Cape

Forecaster Kumsa Masizana says there is a 60 percent chance of scattered showers that may fall on Friday onward.

"Saturday, which is Christmas day we are expecting a similar weather pattern where it will be isolated to scattered. That 60 percent will spear to the Western bushveld of the Limpopo province.

"On Sunday, 26 December we are seeing that systems slowly moderate leaving just isolated showers and thundershowers over the central and eastern regions where we are expecting those thunderstorms to start popping up from the afternoon into the late evening."
