Kriek says it's been difficult for the family, especially for their son who wishes he could've saved his father.

"I want these men to be found. It is one life too many that have been taken away. All lives matter right now. My husband's life mattered to me and for a lot of people."

"We have been married for 27 years. He was my husband, my friend, the father of my children, my hero, my companion, my everything, my world.

"He was the most loving person, smiling, always willing to help everyone where he can."

Johan Kriek will be laid to rest on Tuesday.
