Johan Kriek was killed during a home invasion this week.
His wife, Leonie says two men barged into their house on Tuesday morning - as she opened the door to let the dogs out.
She says her 53-year-old husband was stabbed in the chest - while their youngest son - Janco was stabbed in the thigh.
Johan - who was the branch manager at Rieks Towing Durban - later died in hospital.

Kriek says it's been difficult for the family, especially for their son who wishes he could've saved his father.
"I want these men to be found. It is one life too many that have been taken away. All lives matter right now. My husband's life mattered to me and for a lot of people."
"We have been married for 27 years. He was my husband, my friend, the father of my children, my hero, my companion, my everything, my world.
"He was the most loving person, smiling, always willing to help everyone where he can."
Johan Kriek will be laid to rest on Tuesday.
