West Rand crash claims 13 lives
13 people - including children - have been killed after a bakkie and a car collided on the West Rand.
The vehicles crashed on the N12 between Fochville and Westonaria last night.
ER24's Russel Meiring says nine other people were hurt, six of them critically.
"ER24 paramedics along with several other medical services arrived on the scene after 8pm and found that both vehicles in the road. Both of the vehicles had sustained a considerable amount of damage in the collision," Meiring said.
Meiring says on further inspection, five people from the vehicle and eight others from the bakkie had sustained fatal injuries.
