Weekend storms results in water, power outages in KZN
Updated | By Mamelisa Ngcongo
Officials from the Department of Cooperative
Governance in KZN say the heavy storm that lashed the
province's northern areas over the weekend brought down some communication
lines.
Kwanongoma was particularly hard hit, with roads and infrastructure damaged.
This has resulted in water and power outages in some communities.
The department's Siboniso Mngadi says this also affected the public infrastructure such as roads.

"As a result, some areas don't have electricity and this has also affected the connectivity in the area, as some people are unable to make phone calls."
Meanwhile, Eskom says many faults have been reported in northern KZN due to storm damage.
These include the Hluhluwe, Hlabisa, Mkuze, Jozini, Nongoma and Pongola areas.
