eThekwini to shut northern water pipeline for 24 hours

eThekwini's northern water pipeline is going to be shut down for 24 hours from Tuesday evening.
The City says technicians will be installing new valves.

eThekwini Municipality says Tuesday's shutdown is scheduled for 5pm.
It says water supply will be interrupted while the work is being undertaken.
The City says reservoirs will be left open during peak periods on Wednesday morning and afternoon - but has warned supply will depend on consumption.
Residents in the northern parts of Durban have been affected by recurring water outages over the past few months.
eThekwini officials say work on the northern aqueduct is meant to increase pressure within the pipeline.

It's added that a large part of it has been completed.
Affected areas include those under Phoenix 1 Lower-Level, Phoenix 1 Higher Level, Phoenix 2 Higher Level and Lower-Level and Phoenix 3 to 6 Reservoirs.
Others areas set to be impacted are under Aloes Lower-Level, Aloes Higher Level, Sea Cow Lake, Mountview, Trenance 1, Trenance 3 and Newlands 1 to 4 Reservoirs.
Some areas in KwaMashu, Ntuzuma, Inanda, Cornubia,Glen Anil, La Lucia, Virginia and Umhlanga will also be affected]
