Updated | By Nomfundo Ngcobo
A cold front is expected to make its way to parts of KwaZulu-Natal.

Forecaster at the South African Weather Service, Thandiwe Gumede says gale force winds are expected along the coast, which may result in runaway fires in areas like Newcastle, Ladysmith and other surrounding areas.
"The south-west side will also be quite strong with gale force winds coming through from the south coast, possibly reaching Durban and up to Richards Bay.

"As the waves pick up with the approach of the cold front, we are expecting them to rise even further and reach up 4.5 going up to 5 metres possibly," says Gumede.
Gumede says the waves will still be fairly high on Wednesday.
