We will continue to pull the plug on illegal connections, warns KwaDukuza Municipality

KwaDukuza's been pulling the plug on illegal electricity connections.
It's issued over 323 fines to the tune of 3-.7 million rand so far.
The north coast Municipality says business properties were handed more than 186 fines valued at over 2.5 million rand.
More than 100 other cases are related to domestic properties.

Spokesperson Sipho Mkhize says about half of them have paid their fines.
He's issued this warning to power thieves, "We want people to come forward and explain the various issues that they have."
"We have resorted to saying as a council, we will be going out to properties every week to make sure that we disconnect all those who have tampered with their metres or who have connected to our grid illegally."
