Water restrictions to hit Durban central, south on Friday
Updated | By Celumusa Zulu
eThekwini has warned residents in Durban's central and southern parts of possible water restrictions on Friday.

This is due to maintenance work at the Wiggins Water Works High Lift pump station.
The city said officials from uMngeni-uThukela will be performing essential maintenance tasks at the facility between 8 am and 4 pm.
A number of areas that receive water from the Sherwood 3 Reservoir could be affected.
The other reservoirs likely to be impacted are in Chesterville, Ridge View, St Thomas, Curries Road, North Ridge, Ridge End, Rosetta, Cato Manor, South Ridge, Mobeni and Lamontville.

Officials warned that while efforts were made to fill reservoirs before the shutdown, the availability of the resource throughout the day will depend on consumption patterns.
eThekwini appealed to residents to use water sparingly.
