Water restored in Ezakheni, officials warn of future technical difficulties

uThukela officials say they are pleased that the water supply's been restored to areas in and around Ladysmith's Ezakheni area.
This after last month's floods severely damaged or washed away five out of six pumps at Ezakheni's raw water abstraction pump station, leading to major water supply issues in the area.
The District Municipality's Jabulani Mkhonza says repairs to the third pump station wrapped up on Sunday.

He says this has pushed up the water levels at their reservoirs.
"We are happy to say that the amount of water has increased in many reservoirs.
"But at the moment we'd like to advise the community to continue to store water if possible as we could experience some technical difficulties as the Ezakheni Water Treatment Works is still a work on progress."
