Water rationing in eThekwini from Monday

Ethekwini
Municipality has announced will be implementing water rationing as of Monday.
This will affect all areas that are supplied by Umgeni Water's Durban Heights water treatment works, where work to repair two pipelines that convey raw water from Nagle Dam will take place.
The pipelines that supply water to eThekwini reservoirs were damaged during the April floods-meaning that not enough water is being pumped to the reservoirs.
Municipal spokesperson Msawakhe Mayisela says the rotational supply system will remain in place until repairs are completed.

"The contractor has been appointed and will commence soon with the repairs. This rationing is going to last for a period of 10 to 12 months.
"Therefore we ask the public to bear with us and understand the situation is beyond the city's control and we are going to do everything in our power to ensure that all residents have equitable access to potable water."
