Housing for KZN flood victims 'has hit a few snags'
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
KwaZulu-Natal Human Settlements MEC Jomo Sibiya has admitted
the project to build temporary housing units for KZN's flood victims has hit a
few roadblocks.
"We are experiencing stoppages, people who have coordinated themselves as forums will stop our work. We will work for a day and on the third day, we will stop. Then the mayor will come and help us engage with them.
"Our approach mandated by the premier is that we continue engaging so that we take everyone on board."
He says they're making good progress overall.

At least 206 units have been built so far, with work underway to identify more land.
"In the next few days, we will be going beyond 500 TRUs in the entire province. eThekwini is the epicentre of the disaster and we have committed in the next two weeks a number of centres will be closed."
