WATCH: Violent protest erupts in Isipingo

Police are trying to restore calm in Isipingo, south of Durban, after violent protest action erupted on Monday morning.
Disgruntled demonstrators have blocked Old Main Road with burning tyres - with the route currently inaccessible from Isipingo Rail.
Durban Metro Police spokesperson, Parboo Sewpersad says it seems that residents are upset over housing issues.
He says officers are trying to clear the road.

"Protesters have blocked the entire roadway. The roads are still closed. One lane should be opened any moment now.
"Alternative routes are South Coast road and the N2. Motorists are urged to stay away from the area."
