Updated | By Newswatch
A 50-year-old man has died while trying to stop an out-of-control truck after a multi-vehicle pileup in Pinetown.
Medics who responded to the multi-vehicle pileup, say a truck and four other vehicles collided at the intersection of East and Stapleton Roads last night.
There were no injuries.
But Life Response's Leon Fourie says no was prepared for what happened next.
After speaking to the police, the driver of the truck climbed back into the cab and tried to reverse.
"He jumped out of the truck and struck his head on the floor, the truck then veered out of control and a Metro member who was on scene attempted to stop the truck to no avail," said Fourie.

Shocking footage captured by bystanders show the vehicle careening down the road and a small embankment.
Fourie says the 50-year-old trucker tragically died.
"The truck then continued down Stapleton Road where it pushed vehicles out of the way and then crashed into a residential property where it went through the wall.
"The truck driver sustained serious injuries when he fell out of the truck. Life Response paramedics attempted to resuscitate the truckdriver but he passed away from the nature of his injuries."
