WATCH: Ndwedwe residents block roads with burning tyres, rubble

KwaZulu-Natal police are on scene of a violent community protest in Ndwedwe, in the iLembe District.
Residents have blocked all access routes with burning tyres, stones and rubble and are not allowing motorists and public transport vehicles to leave or enter the area.
They want their water supply to be restored and roads resurfaced.

The police's Nqobile Gwala says the unrest began last night.
"The roads are still closed and the police are at the scene to subdue the situation. A case of incitement to cause violence has been opened for investigation after a voice note was circulated on social media yesterday," she said.
