WATCH: Families left homeless after Kennedy Road fire

It's been a night of uncertainty for residents of Durban's Kennedy Road Informal Settlement whose homes were destroyed by yet another fire in the area last night.
eThekwini Fire says over 200 dwellings were burnt down.
Central District Commander, Bheki Hadebe says the fire spread quickly - making it difficult to contain. He says many people have lost their homes.
"At the moment, we have contacted our disaster team who will assist in terms of shelter. They will assess the situation and see how they can help," he says.

Ward 25 councillor, Hassan Haniff is appealing to the public to help with food, clothing and other donations for those affected.
"We're looking at over 200 shacks being burned at the moment. So we're looking at five residents per shack," he says.
