WATCH: Empangeni robbers' getaway before fatal shootout
CCTV footage has emerged of the Empangeni robbery that ended in a fatal shootout on the N2 in Durban.
A gang of eight targetted a clothing outlet at a mall in the northern KZN town on Wednesday morning.
They held up a security guard before taking clothes and blankets from the store.

They fled towards Durban in two vehicles before private security officers pursued them and called for backup.
Police officers and other security personnel were waiting at the Tongaat Toll Plaza.

The suspects lost control of the vehicles and a shootout ensued.
Five suspected robbers were killed.
