WATCH: Durban church destroyed by massive fire

A Durban church has been completely gutted after it caught fire on Sunday night.

Emergency responders rushed to Tigard Avenue in Westridge on the Berea to find the entire building engulfed in flames.

eThekwini fire crews eventually extinguished the blaze.
Kyle van Reenen, who is with EMER-G-MED, says no injuries were reported.

"Flames and smoke was coming from the building. The building was quite well alight when eThekwini fire and rescue arrived on scene.

"With it being quite an old building - I stand to be corrected - but I do believe it's a listed building as well. It is quite an old structure and it did go out quite quickly. At this stage, it's unknown what caused the blaze or where it started in the building."
