Bodies of fishermen recovered after hippo attack in Jozini

An investigation is underway after a fishing trip turned deadly in northern KwaZulu-Natal.
Three fishermen were attacked by a hippo in Lake Jozini on Thursday.
The trio, who was in a homemade raft, had been placing their gill nets in the water when the incident occurred.

KZN police spokesperson Nqobile Gwala says their bodies were recovered on Saturday after several days of searching.
"Their bodies were recovered by the police officers from Empangeni search and rescue. An inquest docket was opened for investigation in Ingwavuma police station."
