Durban businessman and socialite, Mabheleni Ntuli made a brief appearance in the Commercial Crimes Court today.

He is alleged to be among those who benefited from the R28-million for the event in 2012.

Former KwaZulu-Natal Economic Development MEC and current ANC Provincial Interim Committee Convener, Mike Mabhuyakhulu and several others appeared in court on charges of fraud and corruption on Wednesday.

Ntuli stood before the court wearing jeans and a smart long-sleeved white shirt.

His legal representative read out an affidavit motivating why he should be granted bail.

The affidavit included the fact that Ntuli has three children who are dependent on him, that he runs an events company that employs 12 people and has business and social ties in the province.

The State's Mlungisi Magwanyana did not oppose bail and agreed that bail be set at R30-thousand.

Ntuli's bail conditions are the same as Mabhuyakhulu and his co-accused, which state that he cannot interfere with witnesses or evidence and must not leave the province without disclosing his travel.

The matter return to court on the 6th of April.
