WATCH: Possible MH370 debris sent for examination
A Malaysian team's been sent to Mozambique to search for more debris that could be linked to missing flight MH370.
Officials from the Asian country, as well as their Australian counterparts, are waiting for the arrival of a possible piece of the aircraft discovered on a beach there by a KZN teenager.
The Malaysian Transport Minister said yesterday that a team in South Africa would collect the part and return with it.
Eighteen-year-old Liam Lotter found the debris while on holiday in Mozambique in December.
The piece was collected by officials from the South African Civil Aviation Authority yesterday.
Lotter is hopeful the discovery, if proved to be from MH370, will bring investigators a step closer to solving the aviation mystery.
"They collected the piece of aircraft and they've taken it back to Joburg where they'll examine it and send it to Malaysia and from Malaysia back to Australia. I hope it gets there safely and I hope the examinations and the research will continue and they find the aircraft," he said.
