WATCH: Community protest hits Verulam
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Verulam was gridlocked on Tuesday morning in the wake of sporadic protests in and around the northern Durban community.

Jeeten Juggernauth from SBA Protect said it appeared that some protesters were making their way to the Verulam CBD.

"They are currently not displaying any acts of violence, but they are burning stuff on the road and blocking the road. We advise people not to go into the area and not to incite and create a problem with them.
"Unfortunately you will have to use alternative route and divert. We can't say, if you go further on, what is going to happen."
