KZN premier promises more staff to clean strike-hit Durban
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
KwaZulu-Natal Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube on Monday promised to bring more staff on board to clean up Durban.
The premier added that they're moving forward with plans to restore order and services in the city, left in disarray by the ongoing DSW strike.
With refuse sites shut, rubbish bins across the municipality are overflowing.
Roads trashed during demonstrations are still littered with debris, while some communities lack water or power due to service disruptions.

DSW embarked on an unprotected strike a week ago to demand equal pay in line with other metros.
Dube-Ncube told the media the clean-up campaign will go on.
"They are now working on mapping the areas so that we know where the teams are going to be going. We are hoping that those extra hands will help the cleaning move quickly."
Meanwhile, police arrested 13 people during a protest outside eThekwini's offices on Electron Road for breaching a court interdict against the strike.
