WATCH: Carl Niehaus hits back at ANC, says 'no authority' to disband MKMVA
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Jacob Zuma loyalist Carl Niehaus spoke to reporters in Nkandla on Wednesday night about his suspension by the ANC.
Niehaus, who is the spokesperson for the disbanded uMkhonto weSizwe Military Veterans' Association (MKMVA) was temporarily suspended by the governing party on Wednesday.
The ANC accused Niehaus of making inflammatory speeches about the party when hundreds of supporters gathered outside the former president's Nkandla home in a show of solidarity.

Niehaus says the ANC cannot make a pronouncement on MKMVA-related matters, as the association was formed outside of the ruling party.
"MKMVA is not a league, like the (ANC) Youth League and the Women's League.
"The ANC has no legal authority to suspend MKMVA. Therefore, the national executive of MKMVA reaffirmed that it will continue to proceed as MKMVA."

Niehaus says he's heartbroken and angry following Zuma's imprisonment.
He says he'll never forgive those who allowed it to happen.
The former president's longtime friend tweeted that he spoke to Zuma before he was whisked off to prison late Wednesday night and that he was strong as usual.
He says some comrades will be making their way to the Escort Correctional Centre on Thursday afternoon to pay their respects to the former president and protest against his unjust imprisonment.
