WATCH: Cardinal Wilfred Napier gets vaccinated

Cardinal Wilfred Napier has received the Pfizer jab at the Royal Showgrounds in Pietermaritzburg.

Napier joined Health Minister Zweli Mkhize in launching Phase two of the vaccine rollout here in KwaZulu-Natal.
Speaking after receiving the jab, the 80-year-old said he hoped by seeing religious leaders receive the jab; others wouldn't be afraid to get vaccinated.

"Today is a historic day for me. It's a day that I received the vaccination and I feel that I am in a position now not to be so fearful about the virus.
"Nonetheless, I am committed as we did right in the beginning to observe all the safety measures that are in place."
