WATCH: Aerial footage used to help co-ordinate Durban factory fire response

Drone footage of yesterday's factory fire in Jacobs, south of Durban has emerged on social media.

The footage by SA Drone Ranger shows firefighters in action as they douse the flames in the vicinity of Gavin and Chamberlain roads.

Flames can be seen burning through the roof. A thick black plume of smoke rises into the air.The billowing smoke could reportedly be seen as far away as Illovo Beach, near Amanzimtoti.
Emergency services who responded to the scene battled for hours to control and extinguish the blaze.
Paramedics say no injuries were reported at the building.
However, one person required treatment after falling while trying to escape the smoke.

It is unclear what sparked the fire.
