Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Willard Beach and Clarke Bay in Ballito will remain closed until Friday.
KwaDukuza Municipality's Beach Manager, Steve Honneyset says they've been advised by the KZN Sharks Board to keep them off-limits after a whale carcass washed up on shore at Salmon Bay on Wednesday.

It was removed by municipal crews.
Honneyset says there is still a possibility of sharks hanging around because of what is left over in the water.

"They are currently doing a run-up and down the coastline with their boast to check the water quality, see if there is any oil or any other parts of the whale floating around.
"We will advise the lifeguards accordingly and they will keep them closed and open up again tomorrow."
The municipality has asked the public to use alternative beaches.
