Warning to teachers over relationships with pupils
Updated | By Puseletso Petersen
The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education is warning that it will take action against teachers who enter relationships with pupils.

The department says it will ensure offending teachers face the full might of the law.
Officials are currently investigating allegations made against two teachers at a high school in Empangeni.
A Durban teacher from a school in Sydenham - accused of sending explicit photos and videos to a pupil - also faces charges of sexual grooming.

The department's Muzi Mahlambi says they take such allegations seriously.
"If there is evidence to that effect and we find you doing that - we will deal with you very harshly. There is a matter that we are following up but if there is anyone who has information, they must come forward. Those who are doing that and have not been reported must know that they are playing with fire," he said.
