Warning for north KZN motorists following series of hijackings
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
KZN police are urging motorists from Empangeni to Emanguzi to be extra vigilant.

They say there's been a spate of hijackings in areas north of Durban and along the north coast.
And authorities believe an organised syndicate's behind them.
They say business people, who own construction vehicles, are approached to do quick jobs.
Truckers are then directed to a meeting point, where they're hijacked.
The police's Thulani Zwane says a 33-year-old man - contracted to repair a ceiling at KwaNgwanase last month - was tied to a tree and robbed of his phone before the gang made off with his truck.

Zwane says police are patrolling these crime-hit areas.
"People owning these trucks for hire - are the ones being targeted. These cases are of a similar nature. It's the same group targeting these vehicles," he said.
