Violent protests over water supply gridlocks N2

Traffic has been brought to a standstill in KZN's Izingolweni in Port Shepstone, after serious and violent protest action on the N2.

Motorists have been advised to rethink their routes until the backlog is cleared.
Disgruntled demonstrators have blocked the road with burning tires, debris and rocks.

Metro's spokesperson in Izingolweni, Musa Thwala says it's believed residents are protesting over water supply issues.
"They are not just marching, they are violent and throwing stones. We are monitoring the situation. We do have members on the grounds. The N2 is closed and I will advise motorists to use alternative routes."
