Former African National Congress (ANC) MP, Vincent Smith has been granted bail following his arrest on Thursday morning.
Smith is facing fraud and corruption charges.
He handed himself over to police in Alberton, east of Johannesburg this morning.
He made a brief appearance in the Commercial Crimes Court sitting at the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court a short while ago, where he was granted bail of R30 000.

Smith, who was the Chairperson of Parliament's Portfolio Committee on Correctional Services, testified before the State Capture Commission of Inquiry earlier this month on his alleged dealings with facilities management company, Bosasa.
His company, Euro Blitz 48, is said to have received payments from Bosasa.
It's alleged Bosasa also installed security cameras at Smith's home in Gauteng, which he apparently didn't declare to Parliament.
