Victim's family demands answers on Verulam fatal shooting
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The family of 25-year-old Verulam resident, Nathaniel Naidoo wants answers following a fatal drive-by shooting last week.
Naidoo was shot dead while on his way to work with a lift club on Friday. A family member who was behind the wheel of their car was also hurt.
Naidoo was laid to rest in Verulam yesterday. His cousin, Candice Govender says they want justice to prevail.
"We've seen it happen to other families and other people. It's really disturbing and sad to see it happening to us. Justice has to be served - that's what we're waiting for now," she said.
Govender says they're unsure why Naidoo was shot.
"The sisters are trying to be strong for their mum and the dad. We want his soul to rest in peace. Things like this can't keep happening. It's happening in our community and on a daily basis," she said.
