Verulam residents continue water protests

Frustrated Verulam residents continued the protests over the lack water in the area on Wednesday morning.
A group blocked the Ottawa intersection on the R102 in protest.
On Tuesday, the South African Human Rights Commission met with officials from eThekwini and the Verulam Water Crisis Committee over residents' struggles with an intermittent water supply.
There was some relief in Trenance Park, near Verulam, when the precious resource returned.

But in his area, Ranesh Rajoo says community members haven't had a drop of water for 13 days.
"People are rather furious, they are rather enraged because children are not going to school, some of the people here are not going to work, they don't have water to drink or to bath or even wash clothes."
"Community members are burning tires on the road, there’s no entry or exit in the area. Motorists can't pass through."
