Protesting Verulam residents promised running water by Tuesday
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Residents of Verulam's Trenance Park have been promised they will have running water in their taps before the end of Tuesday.

They blockaded roads in the morning, the second day of water-related demonstrations by locals.
The protesting crowd gathered at the intersection of Cottonwood Drive and Link Road said their taps have been dry for three months.
They say they feel neglected by the municipality.

Ward 59 Councillor Nkosiyezwe Mhlongo told the protesters their supply would be restored today due to pipe problems being fixed.
But residents were not convinced and accused him of having dragged his feet.
In response Mhlongo asked the residents to elect a voluntary task team that will directly work with him.
