Verulam police on hunt for alleged child rapist
KZN police are searching for a man, who raped a 12-year-old girl in Verulam, north of Durban.
Police say the girl was walking to meet a friend to collect a book when she was attacked on Saturday.
Police spokesperson, Thembeka Mbele says the suspect threatened her, raped her and then fled the scene on foot.

"A rape case was open at Verulam SAPS and the docket was transferred to Phoenix Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit."
The matter is still under investigation.
