Committee Chairperson, Francois Beukman has condemned the attack - saying they are shocked by what happened yesterday.
"The mosque is a religious institution. South Africa's constitution protects the right to religious practices. This kind of attack on three innocent people is totally unjustified. We want our communities to live in harmony, practice their religion without fear," Beukman said.
The committee has also sent its condolences to the family of the man who has died.
Meanwhile, one of the two men who survived the Verulam mosque attack has been discharged from hospital.
