Updated | By Bernadette Wolhuter
Investigators intend to return to the scene of a brazen mosque attack near Verulam, north of Durban that claimed the life of one man and left two others hurt yesterday.

Police said at the scene last night that one count of murder and two of attempted murder - as well as a case of arson have been opened.
Three men stormed the Imam Hussain Mosque yesterday afternoon - attacking three people before setting a library on fire. The suspects then fled the scene.
Three men were rushed to hospital with severe knife wounds.
One of the victims later died in hospital.
"Three worshippers were inside the mosque when three unknown suspects entered. They then stabbed all the worshippers in the mosque. They sustained injuries and were taken to hospital. One of the worshippers died in hospital. There are certain rooms that were set alight at the mosque," SAPS spokesperson, Nqobile Gwala said.
Gwala says officials are investigating the motive for the attack.
