UMngeni-uThukela to supply eThekwini with additional water
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
eThekwini Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda says the city is doing its best to ensure a steady flow of water to households and businesses.

He says the municipality is getting an additional 160 megalitres of water per day from UMngeni-uThukela Water.
Supply to many parts of Durban has been erratic over the past couple of weeks.
Some residents in Ntuzuma B and C sections say they haven't received a drop in weeks, while areas near Pinetown last saw running water in their taps a week ago.
Parts of Umhlanga have also gone four days without.

Kaunda spoke about the supply problems at the launch of the festive season campaign at uShaka Marine World on Wednesday.
"The shortage of water supply over the past few days might have caused some anxiety among our residents and visitors during this period. We want to assure you that our teams have been working tirelessly to restore the water supply in many areas that were affected by the temporary shutdown of Umgeni-Thukela Water systems.
"As of yesterday, most areas in the north and south had already started to receive water as our network is stabilising. Furthermore, Umgeni-Thukela Water has committed itself to give us an additional 160 mega litres of water per day to ensure that we have adequate supply."
