Updated | By Bernadette Wolhuter
Link Road in Shallcross has been re-opened following unruly protest action there yesterday.

The busy road near Chatsworth, south Durban had to be closed after protesters dragged pieces of debris onto the tar.
Police spokesperson, Thulani Zwane says it had all been cleared away by mid-morning today.
"Link Road in Shallcross is clear now [following] yesterday's protests. People were burning tyres, debris and even boats," he said.
The death of a little girl is believed to have triggered the unrest.
"It is alleged that a 5-year-old child was knocked down by a car yesterday afternoon. That caused anger within the community. They protested and stoned passing cars and assaulted other people," he said.
A case of culpable homicide is being investigated following the death of the little girl.
