The crash on the R61 between Ramsgate and Southbroom was between two minibus taxis.

Med-Evac's Glen Preston was on scene and said the jaws of life had to be used to extricate some of the patients.
"It was two quantum taxis that hit each other head-on. They both left the roadway and landed up in the drainage on the side of the road into the embankment.
"There were a couple of patients that were found outside of the vehicle, but the vast majority were trapped inside with all the seats that collapsed, and all the front occupants were entrapped against the dashboard."
