UPDATE: Horror crash on N3 near Mooi River claims four lives
The multi-vehicle collision on the N3 near Mooi River has claimed four lives.
"Tragically, four people have sustained fatal injuries in this crash," said KZN EMS spokesperson Robert McKenzie.
"Once most of the fire was extinguished and firefighters could get close to the scene, its been discovered that sadly four people have passed away."
McKenzie says two trucks, a bus and a car were involved in the crash on Monday.
"Firefighters have managed to contain majority of the blaze. However, the tanker is still smoking there are a few flames still coming out of the vehicle. It was transporting a flammable liquid."
He says several people have been hurt says several vehicles were involved in the crash.
"They have all been treated on the scene and have been transported to hospital. The N3 highway in the vicinity of Hidcote is currently closed - affecting the southbound carriageway as well"
